Perhaps we have met or maybe I am new to you, whatever the case may be “Welcome”.

My yoga journey began in my 20’s when I landed in an Ashtanga practice in South London where I was living at the time. I knew very little about yoga but by nature I am a curious person, so I turned up the following Tuesday. As practice began to unfold, Sanskrit (the ancient and classical language of India) replaced English and I could feel myself shrinking. My mind called out “what have you gotten yourself into?”

Somehow I managed to muddle my way through class by quietly observing my neighbours. Truth be told, it wasn’t pretty and my twenty something year old ego took a BIG dent. I was out of my depth, out of breath, and had no idea of the transformative potential these practices had in store for me.

25 years later this living ritual has been with me through relationship beginnings and endings, multiple moves, heart break, loss, love, partnership, career pivots and motherhood.

My reverence to this layered practice is not something I can explain easily. Is it the acceptance, clarity, permission to pause, compassion, presence, community, freedom, liberation? Yes.

But truly it is LOVE.
